Utah Achievement Center Therapeutic Boarding Schools for Teenaged Girls in Utah

Therapy

Utah Achievement Center offers a range of therapeutic

options, with each student receiving up to 10 hours of

therapeutic intervention each week. Therapeutic intervention is

offered in following forms: individual, family, recreational therapy,

intensive group, family and psycho-educational. We use Master

level therapists. Utah Achievement Center students may attend

Alcoholic and Narcotics Anonymous meetings if necessary. Students

are thoroughly assesssed upon admission, in order to devise the

Treatment Plan that will most support the student on her path

to success.

The truth is that our finest moments are most likely

to occur when we are feeling deeply uncomfortable, unhappy, or

unfulfilled. For it is only in such moments, propelled by our

discomfort, that we are likely to step out of our ruts and start

searching for different ways or truer answers.

-M. Scott Peck

Therapy at Utah Achievement Center is a collaborative

approach. Therapy involves therapists, program directors,

necessary staff, and parent or guardian.

The base therapy program is individualized to each student’s

needs. Student and guardian will have to complete therapy

assignments before moving on to the next therapy level. The positive

approach to youth development is not about crisis management and

not about stopping or preventing problems. However, the program

is about investing wisely in our youth, increasing their exposure

to positive, constructive activities, and instilling values and

skills that will guide them the rest of their adult lives.
