Flying 7 Ranch
for Youth
ABOUT US
The ranch is located outside of Idaho Falls, Idaho in the great
Snake River Valley. Wildlife and great scenery abound. We are
very close to Yellowstone Park and Jackson Hole. The staff at
Flying 7 Ranch has over 30 years experience in coaching at the
high school level and over 35 years experience working with
youth, including other youth ranches and wilderness programs.
THE STAFF
Mike Harrigfeld
Owner of the ranch with his wife Lola. Mike grew up learning
“the cowboy way” on his fathers cattle ranch. Mike
has been a high school football, basketball, and track coach
for many years while running the Flying 7 Ranch. He has coached
and mentored several successful college athletes and other students
who have gone on to achieve success in other fields.
Chad Harrigfeld
Chad and his wife Tori are the managers of The Flying 7 Ranch.
After his college football career Chad became the number one
trainer at the ranch along with his other responsibilities on
the ranch. Chad has been involved in coaching football in the
community. He is also a certified trainer in Positive Control
Systems.
Mauna Rae Harrigfeld
After Mauna Rae’s college volleyball career in Arizona, she
worked on a youth ranch in Utah and loved it, so she wanted
to be part of our staff. We are anxious to take advantage of
her experience and skill.She also coaches in the local high
school
Brett Harrigfeld
Brett is the youngest son of the Harrigfeld’s, and he has just
returned off a mission for his church. He knows the ranch life,
and will be a good model for the boys.
Shellie Willardson
With Shellie comes a wealth of experience. 5 Years experience
working in troubled youth programs, including wilderness programs
and animal therapy. She was a psyche tech at two different juvenile
lock down facilities, and a correctional officer at a men’s
prison. She also has been a Psychosocial Rehabilitator at a
counseling agency. She has a B.S Degree in Psychology. She is
a valuable resource for Flying 7 Ranch.
Cory Wilson
Cory is our around-the-clock licensed professional therapist
(L.L.P.C.) with experience in family counseling and is currently
a high school counselor. He will assist our students with individual
therapy and treatment plans, as well as family therapy to improve
relationships in the home.
There are other professionals, full-time
therapists, teachers, physicians, volunteers, and other members
of the family who will be involved on the ranch as needed.
