PRIVACY POLICY AND TERMS OF USE
ELIGIBILITY AND ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS
This page states the Privacy Policy, Terms of Use, and Site Disclaimer (herinafter referred to as “Terms of Use”)
forming the agreement under which you may use the following internet web sites, owned, operated,
and/or managed by Family Compass, LLC. These sites (hereinafter referred to as “the sites”)
include: thefamilycompass.com, partners-in-parenting.com, parentresources.info, teen-juvenile-bootcamps.com,
troubled-teens-boarding-schools.com, and troubled-teens-military-schools.com.
Please read this page carefully. If you do not accept these Terms of Use, do not use the sites and
their services. By using the sites, you are indicating that you are 18 years of age or older, that
you have the full power and right to enter into this Agreement, and that you agree with and will abide
by the terms of this Agreement. Site users who are younger than 18, are, it is presumed, under the influence or custody
of responsible adults. No contract may be entered into between the Company and such a user.
Therefore, at the Company’s discretion, with or without explanation, users under the age of 18 may be restricted
or expelled from the sites, as they have no legal authority to enter into contract for conduct. In this sense
it is understood that users are not in the public domain while using the sites, but rather are on private property,
access to which may be limited or withdrawn at the owner’s discretion.
Revisions to the sites are effective to you as a user of the sites immediately upon posting. You should visit
this page periodically to review these Terms of Use, because they are binding on you. The terms “you” and “user”
as used in this Agreement refer to all individuals and/or entities accessing this website for any reason.
Throughout the sites it should be noted that certain advertisers (including schools and programs) are featured,
at random, and at The Company’s sole discretion on each of the site’s domains. These advertisers collect,
through the Company’s services and technologies, information relevant to the services they offer. Users of the
sites should thoroughly read and understand this entire document, and the privacy policy associated with the
submission of personal information, publicly or confidentially, on the sites. These advertisers, as clearly
noted on the home page of each of the sites’ domains, are hereinafter referred to as “Sponsors.” It is
understood and accepted by the user that sponsors are separate entities from the Company. Although they
are under strict restrictions by the Company on the use of personal information, they are under even greater
restrictions by law.
Sponsors must understand and agree that they are also bound by this document. In every way possible the Company
seeks to outline appropriate and relevant laws regarding the protection of the sites’ users. However, the user
understands and accepts that the Company cannot be held liable for the individual behaviors of the Sponsors,
their agents, their employees, their contractors, or any individual or entity with whom the Sponsor interacts.
Furthermore, if the user engages in any relationship with the Sponsor, contractual or otherwise, this
relationship is separate and distinct from the user’s relationship with the Company, its sites, and its services.
Finally, it is understood that the submission of any form of information through the Company’s services, in
providing such information to Sponsors, is done at the sole responsibility and risk of the user. You agree to
indemnify and hold harmless the Company, its sites, its services, contractors, affiliates, subsidiaries,
officers, employees, event locations, service providers, agents and other partners from any claim or liability,
regardless of the outcome, that may arise from the action, reaction, or inaction of any one or multiple Sponsors.

You understand and agree that any reliance on material posted by other users will be at your own risk.
The Company seeks to make regular reviews and updates to the sites, but assumes no obligation to do so,
nor does it have the ability to screen postings or other communications in advance. You acknowledge and
agree that the Company is not responsible or obligated to screen or monitor material posted by users, and
will not be liable or responsible to any user for performance or nonperformance of such activities. If
notified by a user of any communication which allegedly does not conform to this Agreement, the Company
may in its discretion investigate the allegation and may thereafter determine in its sole discretion
whether to remove or request the removal of the communication. You acknowledge and agree that the Company
reserves the right to expel users and prevent their further access to portions of, or if possible and necessary,
all of the sites’ pages, for violation of this agreement or any applicable law, and may remove communications
which are considered to be, in the Company’s sole judgment, unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, obscene,

publish, translate, create derivative works from, distribute, communicate to the public, perform or display
such content (in whole or in part) and/or to incorporate it in other works in any form, media, or technology
now known or later developed, for so long as any rights exist in such content. You also warrant that the holder
of any rights, including moral rights, in such content, has completely and effectively waived all such rights
and validly and irrevocably granted to you the right to grant the license set forth in this Agreement.
You also permit any user to access, display, view, store and reproduce such content for the user’s personal
use. Subject to all of the foregoing, the owner of such content placed on the website retains any and all
rights that may exist in such content.
The Company fully supports COPPA, which limits the collecting of personal data for anyone under the age of 13.
In order to protect the privacy of younger users, at no time will information knowingly be collected from any
individuals under the age of 18. Self-referrals for treatment are common. However, the Company and its Sponsors
will immediately seek to contact any noted authoritative adults mentioned in the self referral. If no such adult
is mentioned, the self-referral of the minor will be destroyed or deleted from our databases. The Company
assumes no liability for adherence to statutes, laws, and policies in this regard, as it attempts, in good
faith, to abide by such restrictions.
The Company will take whatever means possible to protect and ensure the privacy of our users and we recommend
that our users do the same.
Individuals may choose to take part in discussion boards sponsored or run by the Company and its Sponsors.
These users have the opportunity to share their information publicly on those boards. If an individual chooses

for the individual’s privacy.

distinct from users’ relationships with the Company. You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Company,
its sites, its services, contractors, affiliates, subsidiaries, officers, employees, event locations,

About the Company
The Company is the sole owner and operator, via contract with Intuit, Inc., of the database system
through which the sites collect information. The Company seeks to be an all-encompassing service
designed to help parents and families in the broad aspects of the troubled teen industry. The
Company provides a web-based portal for people to connect with others having similar difficulties,
as well as to find professionals, intervention specialists, treatment programs, etc. To facilitate
this, the Company offers Blog(s), newsletter(s), workshop(s), and other services to develop
interest-driven communication for the welfare of site users.
What Information is Collected or Tracked
To benefit from the services and products offered by the Company, a person may voluntarily submit
certain personally identifiable information. Users may browse the website at no cost and without
entering any personally identifiable information. The term “user” is defined generally as any person,
including Members and visitors, who access the website for any purpose. The provisions in this privacy
policy pertain to all users of the website, unless designated otherwise.
Information gathered by the Company falls into two categories: directly submitted and indirectly (passively)
submitted.
Directly Submitted Information
Submission of personally identifiable information by a user about him/herself and/or a minor in his/her
custody, control, or legal interest, may occur and be classified into two categories: Public and Private.
Public Information
The Company’s goal is to provide forums for people to get together, and to find help. To this end, the
Company allows the posting of certain personally identifiable information to be placed in a general
public viewing area of the sites which cannot be used to contact a particular user (“Public Information”).
Most Public Information is optional and its public posting is encouraged so that the user has the best
experience possible with the Company and its Sponsors services. A user’s public information includes,
but is not limited to, any of the following listed separately or in combination: photo, gender, age,
personal issues or problems. Users may also choose an Online Name to be used in public areas
(such as in the Strongblog). We strongly encourage all members to not use their real name or a
variation of their name in such forums, but to select an Online Name that is unique and different.
Private Information
For users to access the services and events of the Company and its Sponsors, and to enable the Company
to provide its services, products and operational support for the site, we request certain personally
identifiable “Private Information” through our contact forms. These forms collect (but are not limited
to the collection of) information such as: first and last name, home address, email address, telephone
number, therapeutic issues, etc. Note that although Private Information is “requested” via the forms,
the forms themselves have no “required” fields. In other words, users are left at their own discretion
to provide the Company and its Sponsors as much, or as little information as they desire. Fulfilment
of user’s needs may be impacted by the provision, or lack of provision, of requested information, but
the choice to provide is left completely at the user’s discretion. The user assumes full liability and
responsibility for “not” providing Private Information requested via the forms, if the Company and/or
its Sponsors cannot fulfill their needs.
The Company requires financial information for payments (such as a billing address, checking information,
name of credit card holder, credit card number and expiration date). However, the Company uses secure,
third-party financial systems for this purpose, and neither collects nor stores such information in its
databases.
Indirectly Submitted Information
Users may explore the sites and access certain portions without directly providing any personally
identifiable information.
However, the sites indirectly collect certain types of information from users when they visit each URL.
Such passively submitted information collected from users is not classified as personally identifiable information, nor is it linked to personally identifiable information. Like most websites, we use log files. This includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, referring/exit pages, platform type, date/time stamp, and number of clicks to analyze trends, administer the site, track user’s movement.
The company does not employ the use of Clear Gifs (a.k.a. Web Beacons/Web Bugs) anywhere on its site
or in its emails.
How Information is Used
The company does not sell, lease, disclose, trade, or give away your personally identifiable information
to third parties outside the parameters of this privacy policy and this agreement. We may provide aggregate
statistics about our members and visitors regarding demographic information, traffic patterns, user movements
and related website information to reputable third parties, but these statistics do not disclose personally
identifiable information from or about a particular user.
Public Information
Public Information provided by a user is typically viewable to all other users of the sites. The user
has the option to not provide nor publicize personal information. Publicly posted information should not
encourage or allow other users to determine your real name, home or billing street address, phone number,
email address, etc.
We strongly encourage all users to not use their real name or a variation of their name, but to select an
Online Name and presence that is unique and different.
THE COMPANY IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR USERS WHO INTENTIONALLY OR OTHERWISE DISCLOSE PRIVATE INFORMATION TO
THE PUBLIC VIA EMAIL CORRESPONDENCE, OR IN PUBLIC FORUMS WHICH ARE PUBLICLY VIEWABLE.
Private Information
The Company uses a user’s personally identifiable Private Information primarily for three reasons:
1) customer service and operational issues involving the services of the Company and its Sponsors;
2) billing issues; and
3) to investigate violations of this agreement, and to conduct any enforcement measures.
All Private Information submitted by the user is kept confidential and will not be disclosed
to third parties except as required by law; to protect the visitors and members, employees,
or property of the Company; and in the event of a merger or a sale or transfer of all or
substantially all of the business, assets, or equity of the Company any portion thereof
to another company or entity.
Special Offers and Updates
Users will occasionally receive information on current or new events, services, workshops,
or special deals from the Company or its Sponsors. Out of respect for the privacy of our users,
we provide the option to cease these types of communications through opt-out measures. Users who
later wish to receive such communications, normally through the Demanding Strength Newsletter,
may reapply to receive the correspondence.

Sponsors and Service Providers
It is necessary to share personal information with the company’s Sponsors, and to the employees and
contractors that provide internal support to the Company’s and the Sponsors’ operations, including
billing, and responses to inquiries, which may include enrollment in treatment services, workshops,
intervention programs, etc. For example, the company uses an outside merchant services company to
bill for services. The Sponsors and the Company use employees and contractors to provide a flexible,
trained workforce to respond to inquires. Some inquiries may, with the user’s permission, result in
referrals to entities and organizations not directly affiliated with the Company’s or the Sponsor’s
services. Such situations may include the referral of a person to an educational consultant or a
therapist who is more qualified to help with the user’s situation.
We have been advised by our operational service providers that they do not retain, share, store or
use personally identifiable information for any secondary purposes.
